Not counting the “Special Topics on Biomedical Engineering,” “Individual Research,” and the thesis seminar, students need to earn a total of at least 24 credits.

Students are required to complete at least two courses each in any two divisions of the Institute before graduation. (a total of at least 4 courses and 12 credits.)

The remaining 12 credits can come from courses taught outside the institute on the institute’s approved list. (If a course is not on the list of courses approved by the institute, with approval by the student’s advisor, an application needs to be submitted to the institute director for special course approval BEFORE THE DEADLINE FOR ONLINE CLASS REGISTRATION. No late applications will be accepted. )

Students must pass at least 2 professional course taught in English given or approved by Institutes of Biomedical Engineering at NCTU (Note: Except seminar courses.)

Starting from the academic year of 2019, students who will take oral defense for their theses must provide the Originality Check Report as reference for the oral defense committee to prevent plagiarism.
