The establishment of electrophysiological lab is aimed to training the operational capability of the graduate students on bioelectrical signaling detection, and as the basic educative space for the functional cardiac and neuronal courses. Long-term goal is to continue the development and implementation of the biomedical engineering teaching and research missions.
IBE Core Laboratory
Space allocation plan for the three parts - 1. Excitable cells and tissue culture room; 2 Patch-clamp configuration space; 3 Students experiment classroom. The target of the IBE core lab is to execute the ex vivo cellular and tissue experiments and demonstrations. We hope to take up the sustainable development of biomedical engineering research in NCTU.
Biomedical Optics and Neuro-photonics Lab
The Biomedical Optics & Neurophotonics Laboratory (BONL) specializes in the studies of neurophonotics and optogenetics. Neurophotonics denotes a combination of neuroscience and photonics, which covers advances in optical technology applicable to study the basic and clinical applications of neuroscience such as optical brain imaging. Optogenetics is a neuro-modulation technique with combined optic and genetic techniques to control and monitor the activities of specific nerve cell.
